SMA Band (Jr. and Sr.)

The St. Monica Academy Band program offers an exceptional instrumental music education for students in 4th grade and above. Designed to accommodate varying skill levels, our program provides a collaborative environment where students can develop technical proficiency, artistic expression, and a lifelong appreciation for music.

We offer two distinct ensembles tailored to our musicians' experience:

Ensembles Offered

• Junior Band: This ensemble is specifically designed for beginners who are introducing themselves to a new instrument. Focus areas include fundamental music notation, foundational tone production, and the basics of ensemble playing.

• Senior Band: Formed for our more experienced musicians, this advanced ensemble challenges students with complex repertoires, refined group dynamics, and sophisticated musical arrangements.

Performances & Competitions

Our dedicated musicians showcase their hard work and progression through multiple milestone events each academic year:

• Seasonal Concerts: The band proudly hosts both a Christmas Concert and a Spring Concert, inviting the school and parish communities to celebrate their musical achievements.

• City-Wide Competition: In addition to school performances, our musicians test their skills and represent SMA annually at a city-wide band competition, fostering a spirit of excellence and camaraderie.
