I grew up in Harwood Heights with a large extended family surrounding me. My great grandparents moved to the Oriole Park area in the early 1940’s and were founding members of St. Eugene Parish. I attended St Eugene and Resurrection High School. Following High School, I attended Marquette University in Milwaukee majoring in elementary education. I completed my graduate work in school leadership at North Park University in Chicago. I am a Fellow in the Center for Transformation Educational Leadership at the University of Notre Dame.
I married my husband Richard following college and taught for a short time at St. Paul of the Cross. We are parishioners at Mary Seat of Wisdom where I volunteered in the religious education and children’s liturgy programs. When my youngest child was school age, I began teaching at Mary Seat of Wisdom and was there in various roles for ten years. I was an assistant principal for two years and have been a principal for seven years.
My husband attended St. Monica through second grade. As his family grew they moved west to the Schorsch Forrest View area and he finished grammar school at Divine Savior. Afterwards he attended Hoy Cross High School and Bradley University.
I have three children. Two are grown and work in supply chain management. The third is entering her senior year at Boston College where she will finish a degree in finance.
Over the summer I always enjoy attending concerts at Ravinia, traveling to visit small towns along the Michigan shore, and gardening. My family and I are avid board game players, and we still love to visit Disney World together whenever we can. Over the winter months my husband and I enjoy going to hockey games and cooking together. I am a voracious reader and consider myself to be a life-long learner. My Catholic Faith is the cornerstone of my life.
