Dear St. Monica Academy Families,
St. Monica Academy Regional Science Fair News: We are very proud of the seventh- and eighth-grade students, who worked very hard since September to develop their science fair projects under the direction of Mrs. Karen Ronchi, our middle school Science teacher. Our students researched their topics, applied the scientific method by developing and performing experiments, analyzed data, created presentation boards, and gave oral class presentations. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we were unable to host a local science fair with guest judges this school year. Fortunately, we have nine students, who are representing St. Monica Academy virtually in the IJAS Region 2 Science Exposition in the coming week.
Paper Session: Sela Nucum (7th), Aaron Serrano (7th), Zaydan Hutchinson (8th), Haley O'Donnell (8th)
Poster Session: Zaydan Hutchinson (8th), Karolina Kyrych (7th), Avery Lee (8th), Efi Malliaras (7th), Sela Nucum (7th), Haley O'Donnell (8th), Kate Perez (8th), Anna Quaranta (7th), Aaron Serrano (7th)
All of these students have submitted electronic files of their booklets, photos of their presentation boards, and videos of their oral presentations for the judges to review over the next two weeks. We are most grateful to Ms. Alex Calcagno, Mr. Marc Colavitti, Mr. Bob Hilger, Mrs. Susan Hilger, Mr. Joe Ronchi, and Mrs. Karen Ronchi, who are serving as judges for these events. Results will be made available in mid-March. We wish our young scientists all the best!
Sincerely,
Ray Coleman, Principal
