Dear St. Monica Academy Families,

Student Absences:  Please continue to report student absences to the school office along with symptoms by 9:00 a.m. each morning.  All symptomatic individuals must remain home, regardless of vaccination status.  Families are obligated to report Covid-19 diagnoses and/or close contact cases in your household to the school office.  If anyone in your household is Covid positive, please email me or call the school to report any cases.  If symptoms last longer than 24 hours, an individual must receive a negative covid test or alternative medical diagnosis prior to returning to school.  Please contact me if you have any questions

Childhood Cancer dress down day in gold and yellow raised more than $500.  Thank you all for your generosity to benefit this great cause. 
World’s Finest Chocolate Sale Fundraiser:  We have extra boxes of chocolate in the office until they run out.  Please stop by the office if you would like to sell more chocolate.

Car Wash sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 943 is scheduled for this Saturday Sept. 25 from 9am to 2pm in the school parking lot at Nottingham and Carmen Avenues.

Vaccination Requirement for Coaches:  Volunteer coaches are required to be fully vaccinated by October 31.  Coaches who are not vaccinated will need to show a weekly negative Covid test as a condition of coaching.  These requirements are for all regular volunteer coaches for Archdiocese of Chicago schools, which follows the governor’s order from August 26. 

Collecting Vaccination Cards:  It will be necessary to verify and maintain vaccination status for our coaches.  Please send a photocopy of your official vaccination card to the school office or a copy to me directly at [email protected].  All vaccination documentation will be treated with the confidentiality similar to medical or employee records.  The fall seasons of Soccer and Cross Country will not be affected as their seasons will have concluded by October 31.

Testing for Unvaccinated Individuals:  Once the policy takes effect on October 31, coaches who have not verified their completed vaccination status will need to show a weekly negative Covid test.  If there is additional information that becomes available, it will be shared with all of you.  Thank you for your cooperation to keep everyone healthy and safe!
