Dear St. Monica Academy Families,

I hope everyone enjoyed the day off and could enjoy the snow.  Although, there is some snow expected tomorrow, we will be in session Thursday.

The Band Solo Adjudication was held on Sunday, January 30th. Students prepared a solo and performed it before a judge. The judge decided based on their age, experience, and how well they played if they earned a perfect medal, gold medal, or silver medal.  Congratulations to the following students:  Serena Esser –Gold,  Declan Finnegan – Gold,  Hazel Hillebrand- Gold, Giovanna Lee  - Perfect,  Giuliana Lee – Perfect,  Isabella Lobo – Perfect,  Gavin Magnine – Gold  Madalyn Magnine – Gold,  Aleksander Makowski  - Perfect,  Efi Malliaras – Perfect, Magdaleno Nucum – Perfect,  Mia Reykjalin – Gold, and  Kaitlin Vogt – Gold.

February is Black History Month.  This is a time, where we recognize the key roles that African Americans played in U.S. history. For example, Black inventors have helped make our lives easier through the creation of innovative products.  Garret Morgan created the Three-Light Traffic Signal in 1923, Alexander Miles created Automatic Elevators doors in 1887, Lewis Latimer created the Carbon Light Bulb Filament and Marc Dean invented the Color IBM PC Monitor and Gigahertz Chip. 

Re-registration for the 2022-2023 school year are due.  All families can take advantage of an early pay discount on the family registration fee by returning the Tuition Agreement and Re-registration forms by March 16^th.  The Registration Fee increases from $100 to $200 after Monday March 16^th. 

Free Throw Contest Time Change to 1:00 p.m.:  The Knights of Columbus are hosting a Free Throw Shooting Contest on Sunday, February 6 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at St. Eugene’s Gym (Shaunessy Center).  The contest is open to boys and girls ages 9-14.  All those interested must sign up at St. Eugene’s gym between 1:00 and 1:30 PM on the day of the event.  Good Luck to all!
