The USDA issued an announcement on August 31, 2020 that all school children will be eligible to receive free meals from September 1, 2020 through December 18, 2020.
Effective immediately, your child(ren) will be able to receive lunch at school for FREE, regardless of whether they are attending in-school or participating in e-learning. You will be able to pick up two (2) days’ worth of meals at your school every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for your eLearning students. In addition, you can pick up meals for your children at home ages 2 years to 18 years … even those not enrolled in the school. Meal entrees that need to be heated at home will include heating instructions inside each of the individual two day meal boxes. All meals include a carton of milk. Orders for the second menu choice will be converted to the primary menu choice for students who have ordered that option for those first two weeks unless we hear differently. Also, the printed menu initially may be subject to change should quantities increase significantly as a result of this last minute benefit provided by the USDA.
You do not need to complete an application for free or reduced price meals at this time. We will provide guidance at a later date to inform you if or when applications for meal benefits will need to be completed.
All parents/students who paid for meals served and/or ordered after September 1, 2020 will have a credit in their account, or you may contact the food service staff at your school regarding obtaining a refund. We encourage you to pick up free meals at school for your eLearning children and any other children at home, and/or place an order for your child(ren) in school.
