Dear St. Monica Academy Families,
There is no doubt that our teachers, aides, and staff are the heart of our school. They pour themselves into the students to help them grow intellectually and emotionally so they might become the young men and women God intends them to be. If our teachers are the heart of our school, then our parents are the soul. While our teachers nurture and support our children in our classrooms, our families create those unique moments that provide lifelong memories that define us as a community. Whether you volunteer in the classroom, a school event, as a coach or room parent, together, you build us up. Whether you tend the school garden, buy chocolate or Queen of Hearts tickets you are essential to our identity and success as a school. It is your efforts that will imprint a joyful sense of community and care on your child’s heart so they can go forth and share a legacy of success and faith with all those they meet in their future. At each event and through every initiative we build our children’s image of what a community can accomplish and build together. We give them roots and build a vision of hope for a future not yet imagined. The legacy you are creating through your time, talent and dedication is the foundation for your child’s future and an opportunity to do the same for all those who come behind them. We cannot do this without YOU! Each of you is important and provides a unique and necessary piece of the magnificent mosaic that is St. Monica Academy. Thank you all for your time and dedication!
Thank you to all the volunteers at the recent Mustangs Community in Action Movie Night. Liliana Calderon, Sara Wade, Erica Barlow, Kathy Strachan, Roxanna Solis, Liz Ceglarek, and Carin Smith. It was a beautiful night, and the parking lot was packed with our SMA families! The event was a huge success! If you were not able to join us, we look forward to seeing you at the next event.
Last Friday the faculty was able to gather to review the beginning of the year assessments. The information from the assessments gives us both an overview of each student’s abilities and specific information about the skills each student needs additional support with. This allows us to provide instruction targeted to the needs of every child.
Teachers will review the results of the assessment with their students and together, use the data to create learning goals for the next eight to ten weeks. Parents will receive their child’s iReady math and reading report in the Wednesday folder next week.
Please pray for those in Florida affected by Hurricane Ian.
Peace and blessings,
Nancy Zver, Principal
