Dear St. Monica Academy Families,
As you have probably noticed, the city is in the process of replacing the sidewalks along the south side of Carmen Ave. Later this week we expect them to begin work along the north side of the street. This will affect daily entry and exit for students in second through fifth grade. Please watch for an update and more specific instructions later this week.
Congratulations to our second graders for participating in First Reconciliation and their First Communion Retreat! Please continue to pray for them as they prepare to receive their First Holy Communion on May 6th. Thank you to Mrs. Engquist for her continued work in preparing our students for these important sacraments!
For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat (Matthew 25:35) Our sixth through eighth grade students participated in a field trip to Feed My Starving Children this week. This was an important opportunity for our students to work together and respond to the Gospel call to help those is need!
Several of our sixth graders recently won awards in the Illinois Environmental Agency Poster, Porse and Poetry contest!

From time to time the state updates school code and our handbook must be updated to reflect the new requirements. This is also a requirement of the Archdiocese. Recently, our handbook was updated to reflect these policies. Some of these policy statements were updated and others are new additions. All additions and updated language is taken directly from Archdiocesan and State resources. The most current Family Handbook can always be found on the school website. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Zver
