We are committed to making sure all children feel safe at SMA, physically and emotionally. We have not had a "bullying problem" in the past and plan to keep it that way. If any child is experiencing bullying or any other behavior that makes a student feel unsafe, please reach out to the teacher or Mr. Coleman as soon as possible. The school phone number is 773.631.7880 and emails for all teachers & staff can be found on the "Faculty & Staff" page.
From the Handbook:
"Bullying is wrong and will be dealt with speedily and effectively when it occurs. St. Monica Academy is committed to values of tolerance and respect for others and as an institution opposes all forms of bullying. All members of the school community have an important part to play in fostering an atmosphere where bullying is discouraged and each individual feels cared for and valued. Bullying is deliberately hurtful behavior. It is repeated often over a period of time, and it is difficult for those being bullied to defend themselves. 20 At St. Monica Academy, bullying will be taken seriously. It will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken. Information will be kept on file should bullying persist. Parents of all children involved will be kept informed and their support will be expected. If bullying is persistent, suspension or expulsion may result."
