Dear St. Monica Academy Families,

I hope this message finds you well and excited for what’s ahead in the month of October! We have some fantastic events lined up and I am thrilled to announce our Mustang of the Month program.

As many of you know, the Gala event is scheduled for Saturday, October 14th. I hope you have procured your tickets as this event should be a great time for this community. It is an important event that not only raises significant funds for the institution, but brings together school families, parishioners, and friends of St. Monica Academy and the St. Monica and St. Rosalie Parishes.

In this week’s Wednesday folders, you will find information about participating in the opportunity to buy raffle tickets to try to win one of the SMA teacher experiences. Perhaps you’d like to participate in mini golf with Mr. Weber or have a painting party with Mrs. Petracco? Well, you must buy some raffle tickets. There are some great teacher experiences that one can try to win. You can start to buy your raffle tickets on Thursday!  

Furthermore, information will be given in the student folders about the St. Monica Trunk-or-Treat. Mark your calendars for this event as it promises to be a day filled with fun and community spirit. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together for a great community outing.  

This week, we will have a Spirit Assembly on Thursday. On this date, we will announce our first winners of the Mustang of the Month program. Students and staff will be recognized for being the epitome of what it means to be a Mustang. Teachers have been asked to identify at least one student from each class who has throughout the month of September demonstrated the care, compassion, and love one would find in the Gospel (Gospel-driven, “hands and feet” of Jesus), that demonstrates excellence always and everywhere, and brings his or her peers together (unity). We will announce one winner from the Early Childhood grades (PreK-2nd), the Intermediate Grades (3rd through 5th), and our Middle School (6th through 8th). We will also announce a winner from our faculty and staff. These individuals will be our Mustangs of the Month for September 2023 and will be proudly displayed throughout October. The students and staff member will be written up in next week’s letter to the community.

Just as a reminder to all families, the calendar we are operating off of can be found here. Some are still utilizing an older version that was sent out previous to the end of last school year. In addition to this, please visit the St. Monica Academy website to sign up for volunteer opportunities and to read about the importance of our fundraising efforts.
