Dear St. Monica Academy Families,

St. Vincent DePaul Food Collection:  St. Monica Academy is scheduling a Food Collection to help the needy Thursday and Friday of this week.  All canned goods and non-perishable items will be accepted and appreciated.  Send a can good to school with your child.  We will have a collection box set up near the office.  All donations will support the St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry to help families in need.  Thank you in advance for your generosity!

SMA Gardens:  St. Monica Academy students have started working hard to beautify our little corner of the earth by preparing and planting classroom gardens and planter boxes.  Thank you to Lurvey’s Garden Center in Des Plaines for their generous donation of plants and bushes this year!   We will share pictures of our gardens on our Facebook page as they grow.

Sports:  We are planning on having a full calendar of Sports in the Fall starting with Co-ed Soccer and Cross-Country.  Signup information will be sent home soon.  We are looking forward to a new school year with a full schedule of sports and extracurricular activities!

Absences:  Please continue to report any absences to the school office at 773-631-7880 and fill out the following Google Form each morning when your child is sick.  If we do not receive a call from you by 9:00 a.m., we will call you.  Please keep your child home and let me know if he or she is sick or experiencing any Covid symptoms.

Donate Used Uniforms:  The end of the school year is just about here.  If you are not planning on handing down old uniforms to siblings or other family members, we hope you’ll consider handing it down to another St. Monica Academy student.  During the last week of school, we will have a collection bin outside the office for your donated uniforms.  Thank you in advance for helping out another SMA family!

School Uniforms Will Return in 2021-2022:  School uniforms will return next school year, and formal uniforms will be worn on non-gym days for grades 1-8  Dennis Uniform is our uniform provider, and they are located at 7055 West Higgins Ave. Chicago, IL, which is a few blocks north of our school.  DennisUniformShoppingGuideMay2021.pdf
