Dear St. Monica Academy Families,

I hope this message finds you well as we continue to embark on this, the second week of our school year.  It is with immense pride and excitement that I take just a moment to commend this school community.  There are many reasons.  The first week (though hot) went smoothly.  In addition, we had a successful pair of events on Saturday with the 5K and Summerfest being well attended.  Moreover, some of our students were able to learn a bit more about and honor St. Monica on Friday, the last school day prior to her feast day.  These are all things that make me proud to be your school principal.  To me, these are the actions of school stakeholders that hold true to being Gospel driven, committed to excellence, and focused on unity.

The dedication and enthusiasm exhibited by our students, teachers, staff, and parents are truly inspiring.  I hope we have an unwavering pursuit throughout the year to all of these values.  I believe that by working together, we can achieve great things and create a nurturing environment for every member of this community.  

As we move forward, I am thrilled to announce a few activities that will be important for our community.  These will bring our families closer together, foster a sense of belonging, and of course, create a shared purpose.

These activities will include:  

• Fall School Picture Day, Fri, Sept 8
• Room Parent Meeting, Tues, Sept 12 at 7:00 p.m. in Beyenka Hall
• Back to School Night, Weds, Sept 13 begining at 7:00 p.m. for Mass 
• Grandparents’ Day, Fri, Sept 15 begins at 8:30 a.m. during our school Mass. This will be followed by time in the classrooms and a hospitality reception.
• Outdoor Movie Night featuring The Super Mario Bros Movie Fri, Sept 15, the gates open at 7:00 p.m. free admission cost, concessions for sale. Bring your own chairs and blankets.
• Parents’ Night Out, Sat. Sept. 16 at 7:00 p.m.

Some further information regarding these events has already gotten out to you via the Wednesday folders over the last two weeks and some more will be on its way in the near future.  So, please, be on the look-out for that information.   

These upcoming events reflect our commitment to fostering a strong sense of togetherness and also encourage pride in our institution.  I look forward to your active participation and the opportunity to celebrate as one united St. Monica Academy family.
